There’s just something about the way it looks that’s so... Perfect.

It looks awesome because it’s simply a 2-door version of a sedan. These tend to be the best-looking coupes. I hate the Solara and all the other 2-door versions of sedans that are trying to be a totally different model; they look stupid.
And of course, that Camry is the best car ever made. Avoid the V6 because they’re almost impossible to work on.

But the top trim (SE) only comes with the V6!

Between this and the SC, you’re going to need a new handle

Noooo I’m not going to get an XV10.
But if when I get an SC400, I’ll be known as TheHondaBro is captain of the Sexus .

I’d been looking for a Camry Coupe for a while, especially in the SE trim. It’s even more uncommon than a decent loaded SC400. *sigh*

I used to work at a car wash with someone who had this same red coupe. We got one free car wash a week. When that thing was freshly washed it looked damn good.

It can look even better, too.

Too bad, but it’s ok to not get the SE because the V6 is automatic-only

Yeah that is a bit of a ball buster. Would have been the perfect car otherwise.

My girlfriend has a XV10.sedan, not coupe, but still. Damn thing has been totaled twice, barely maintained, and all around abused, but still runs like a top. Stupid simple to fix too.

The 90's were Toyota’s peak for build quality. You can’t even call them indestructible, because that would be doing the word ‘indestructible’ a disservice.

at least they had ES300 manuals for a couple years, but they killed that combo when the coupe launched :/
And the 4-cylinder Camry has rear drums. Better off buying a 4-cylinder manual and swapping in a 3S-GTE, and swapping the drums for discs (also, the ES300's rear discs are bigger than the Camry’s)
They did offer the Solara with V6 and manual, but it’s still fugly. And I still HATE transverse V6 engines (taking off the intake is scary)

Nah, it’s had it’s share of problems, but they're usually cheaply and quickly fixable.

The only issue is you couldn’t get it V6 and stick. You could get a V6 with a manual in the sedan, or a manual with the 4 cyl, but not V6, coupe, and manual. Also the coupes were only available from 1994 to 1996. In 1995, the front/rear were updated to match the sedan and the V6 was the 1MZ-FE, not the 3VZ-FE offered in 92/93.

You could say this car was right on the cusp of when cars became too complicated. At this point, more expensive cars (like the Supra and Cressida) had all sorts of complications and electronics, but they hadn’t fizzled down to the economy-spec cars yet.

These things freak me out. In Australia the sedans are everywhere, as are the wagons with the dual rear wipers. But we didn’t get any coupes. They look identical except for the doors.
It’s like one of those photoshops of an M5 coupe or something - it looks so familiar yet so not.
